After some advice please.
The time has come for me to pick my station for my CSA placement, and have been advised that I can pick any station within zones 1 or 2. I will be in placement from around 10am to around 2pm Monday-Friday, so after people's thoughts as to which sttions are busy but no manic, and also which ones to avoid because they're dead outside of the peak hours.

Perhaps Westmister station. It's a station that isn't too busy for a major interchange in the central section and generally has a steady stream of people coming through all day. It's obviously served by 3 different lines on 2 sets of platforms and it's a large station so you likely wouldn't be bored or have the same duties every day due to the varied requirements of being a CSA. it's a nice station being rebuilt/ built in the very late 1990's and it serves a particularly nice part of London. 😃

I've done time at a few and I think Tottenham Court Road is really nice with the new ticket hall, steady flow of people, plenty of space to spread out. Leicester Square starts to pick up around midday and is pretty relaxed with friendly staff (no bias... ) If you'd rather be at street level, maybe Embankment?

Manic in the peaks but steady during the daytime. Plenty of disused areas to explore too. The recent staffing changes may well have seen a turnover of staff, however I always found it a friendly station. Euston or London Bridge are ones to consider. One to avoid may be Waterloo, which has a notorious reputation, and from personal experience I'd avoid Bank too.

Personally speaking I'd love to work at Bank, but I'm sure most of you would look at me like I'm mental. That might be because they're about to undergo some major work and I enjoy that.
One of the things to consider will be stations that have Crossrail services in the future. If you work at one of these stations it'll get very busy on the LU side.
If you want a bigger station, interchanges are fun. You might enjoy Stratford, Baker Street, Edgware Road (Sub Surface)
If you want the daily hustle and bustle, anywhere on the central could be fun.
Disclaimer: it's been many years since I've been to many of the Zone 1/2 stations, so take what I've said with a grain of salt

Try to avoid the Central line is my advice as it's far too hot to stand on a platform for a few minutes never mind hours.

Earl's Court is a pretty steady business day around those hours, from what I've seen. Plus not totally underground, either, which is something to bear in mind, given the time of year.

For something different how about Goodge Street, busy during peaks, ticks over outside those hrs. Sundays is a bit quieter however it is a lift station so it will give you a good chance to operate the lifts. One of the beauties of Goodge St when I worked there was that it was closed on Boxing Day as were all the other stations that had I worked at. Academic now though. The big disadvantage of working at GST was that the GSM and DSMs were based upstairs so you had to be on your toes. Probably different now

Warren Street is also a nice station to work at. I've done a few shifts there. Good friendly staff with an easy going attitude and enough to do on the station to be interesting.
By the way lucky you getting a choice. We got allocated station groups and mine is not what I'd have chosen!
