To design, manufacture and supply a visual information system to make visual announcements throughout the London Underground's Central Line trains in sync with the existing audio announcements. PIS installation and integration into the Central Line (92TS) train saloon is excluded from the scope of this work.
It is London Underground's intention to hold an early engagement event in relation to this procurement in Spring 2016.

Background:
The Passenger Information System is for the Central Line (92TS) fleet, which is made up of 85 8-car trains. Each train is made up of a 4 2-car units. There are 2 types of unit: A-B unit and B-C unit. They can be formed into any combination of units except that an A car is always required at the train ends as they contain the cab, however they can also be positioned in the train. Possible train formations include:
A-B — B-C — C-B — B-A;
A-B — A-B — B-C — B-A.
The fleet is made up of 175 A-B units and 165 B-C units.
PIS installation and integration into the Central Line (92TS) train saloon is excluded from the scope of this work.
The Central Line (92TS) fleet is undergoing a programme of works including an upgrade of the train Data Transmission System (DTS) which will be covered by another project.
