I have been told fitting LED lighting into the existing light locations on the 92TS is proving to be hard, with not many companies willing to accept the challenge. There are lighting levels set out in one of the disability standards I believe. Getting everything lit up to the correct lighting level from the current location is hard.

Ooooooooh!
Wonder what they'll do with the thousands of working fluorescent tubes they pull out. Seems needlessly polluting to destroy them if they still have a few thousand hours life left.

How many London Underground staff does it take to change a lightbulb?
None, because its contracted out to competitive tender, unless you count the team overseeing the tender, who never touch the lightbulbs.

This may be a little off topic but regarding train EXTERIOR lighting on the front of trains, will the 72ts, 73ts and 95ts receive LED bulbs? They are quite dim at present compared to stocks like the S stock, 09ts and 96ts

They are quite dim at present compared to stocks like the S stock, 09ts and 96ts The headlamps on the 95 stock were replaced just before resignalling, which one presumes was done due to the greater reliance on reflective trackside signage as part of TBTC. The current headlamps are more than fit for purpose. With the 95 stock being owned by Alstom, I *presume* it's down to them simply to provide something which meets specification. No thanks to LED bulbs if it means a cold silver or blue light like on the 96 stock - I think most people prefer warm white. I certainly do, in fact it's one of a number of reasons why I still keep my nearly 20-year-old car going.

You can get warmer tones on LED lights.
