I went on my own "private" tour a week or so ago, when, by chance, the D-stock train arrived at Acton Town and I decided to take it one stop to Ealing common . I don't really feel as sad about it as when the old met line trains were removed. The one I was on was certainly showing its age. Some of the moquettes were torn and one of the dot matrix displays (is that what it is called?) inside the train was stuck on "Richmond".
I'm sure the tour will go well and provide a few more lasting memories.
I suspect that would very much depend on the staff in question... I suspect that some staff would be quite willing to give up their time, and not be paid for it but others may not... and it's then balancing them up.
You will need at least two In-Date D-Stock Certified Drivers at least to operate the tour train to start with.
One staff member I was chatting to on the last day in service mentioned that he was part of a group doing routine D-stock refersher training the day before(!). So I don't think that there will be a shortage of certified drivers, however available certified drivers may be a different issue. Even if there enough people who would volunteer, they would not be able to exceed the normal rules of maximum hours, time between shifts, etc.

This is very useful for those of us wanting to take photographs. Of course, not too difficult to figure out approximate timings, but out of interest, will the timetable for the day be made available in due course? Many thanks.
