Instead of locking this thread as the topic of roundels is mixed in with other related stuff, I've made the thread title more towards the current discussion

Bizarre that this is happening so often, never happened before so much! Boris pressuring his puppets, making his puppets pressure and rush their puppets!

Snoggle, alighting at Clapton one day in August, I was greeted by 3 staff on the platform. Even in the 50s, they had only one! Yes it is a bit scary all this attention. I got on a 315 at Liv St on Saturday and it smelt as if someone had been through with air freshener and then the man clearing up all the litter came through. The train actually looked clean and tidy - bit of a shock after BR, WAGN, One, NXEA and AGA doing their best to achieve the opposite. And even more terrifying was people waiting for a train this morning at Cambridge Heath - people using West Anglia trains from *there* on a Sunday!! Shouldn't be allowed. And as for Bethnal Green - positively packed with people heading north. It's like another world compared to the 80s where you were lucky if anyone ever got on or off at Bethnal Green in the peaks, never mind a Sunday morning.

20 years before that, BG was one of the places that did see passengers on a Sunday, mostly going to/from the street markets and especially Columbia Rd, returning to the suburbs with flowers and plants. But perhaps that had died out by the 80s. With a great increase in ridership, is it too much to hope for such things as seats and canopies to make a comeback? The bus-shelterisation of the WA stations in the 70s was gross, especially at the inner stations, StJSt, Wood St, etc.

Interesting you mention seats. I looked for some seats at Walthamstow Central today and there is one on the Chingford platform and none anywhere else, just stupid metal perch things which aren't seats. Let's hope we get some proper seats. By complete contrast I came through Willesden Junction this afternoon - cafe open, oddles of seats on the NLL platforms plus a newish covered and fully enclosed waiting room between the platforms. Obviously it's a very busy place these days but a heck of a contrast from days of yore.

Yes, 40 yrs ago, there was a continuous wooden bench at Hoe St and St J St down side. You never had to stand awaiting your train

Hackney Downs roundels are in.
How can a few square pieces of plastic cheer up a station so much?!

Hackney Downs roundels are in. How can a few square pieces of plastic cheer up a station so much?! I'd be very surprised if they're plastic. Should be vitreous enamel now.

Walthamstow now has its roundels. Spelt correctly!
Was that the last station? Is West Anglia now fully roundel-ed? :-)

Whilst it looks like a larger number of shorter formation trains than there has been before, in my experience LO are trying to lengthen trains to 8-car formations where possible, which increases the chance of a potential short formation. So whilst it's technically a negative on the sheet, it's still better than what we had before!

Intrigued to know what the part cancellations were - just failed trains, jammed doors etc?

Intrigued to know what the part cancellations were - just failed trains, jammed doors etc? I'm guessing they include instances where trains "skip stop" and run fast past certain stations to regain time. I also wonder if they include instances where trains are turned at Hackney Downs due to problems reaching Liverpool St (e.g. points failures). There have been plenty of instances of both. They have also had a fair share of fleet failures but these seem to manifest more as full cancellations (train taken out of service at a terminal point).
