Blue seems to predominate - anyone would think it was on the Picc! I'm hard pushed to tell the difference between that ticket hall and the one at Canada Water / insert any JLE ticket hall here. Still, should make for harder daily quizzes.

It was interesting to pass through TCR tonight on my way home from work, to see what had been done and what remained to be completed. I get the sense that it will look even better once all the remaining works are complete.

Great pics, and what a difference in space between the new station and the cramped old one.

Was there today, I noticed the escalators from the ticket hall down to the Central line seemed a bit sluggish, were they running slower than usual or was I mistaken?

Does anyone know if the Central Line lifts up to the new entrance are working yet ?
Would love to have a look around the station and then go on to the Building Centre in nearby Store St, but due to mobility probs need to be able to access lifts.

Does anyone know when the old ticket hall will be reopened? If at all? The TfL website simply says 2016.
I also read that the interchange between the Central and Crossrail has been scaled back, will there still be deep level interchange or will passengers have to rise to the ticket hall and then back down to interchange? It is not very clear on most maps of the station.

The section where the ticket machines were is now in the middle of the new ticket hall. It's just open space now.
<<As this thread is now a general discussion about TCR during and post modernisation, I've moved it to the stations board.>>

Only one of the old subway entrances is being retained outside the Dominion The one on the south side of Oxford Street has been replaced by the new main entrance The one on the north side of Oxford Street has already been paved over and will not be replaced The one at the base of Centre Point tower is being replaced with a new entrance beside the one that opened in December. The old ticket hall itself is being/has been demolished and will be mostly empty space
