I saw yesterday, I think on a "how punctual we are" poster, that a new DLR timetable is due for publication at the end of January. Any clues as to the changes?

Not too much really. The Stratford - Canary Wharf MF midday service goes from 7 mins with 3x3 and 2x2 to 6 mins with 6x3. The latter also applies MF evening 19.30 to 21.00.
Effectively the Stratford route should now be all 3-vehicle, subject to stock availability.
This leaves the Stratford International - Beckton (Woolwich in the peaks) the only service scheduled for 2-vehicle trains.
