Ladies and Gents, On Saturday 10th (and Sunday 11th) March, Acton Depot is holding one of their open weekends. Forum tradition dictates that the Saturday is one of our regular meets. For the benefit of members, new and old, we usually meet up for 11am at the depot entrance to introduce ourselves/catch up on gossip and spend a good few hours enjoying all the attractions the depot has to offer. At around 3pm we take a short walk up the road to the Red Lion and Pineapple for refreshments and a social. The pub is at 281 High Street, Acton. The pub has been used on previous occasions, and is perfect for good food, drinks and also to allow our younger members to join up as it's child friendly. New members are particularly welcome and can be assured that 'the usual suspects' will take you under their wing, if need be. Any members under 18: we do ask that you carry emergency contact details with you, have parental consent (or even better, bring them along too) and some form of identity. For parents peace of mind, those working within the transport industry are CRB checked. There will of course be a forum meet phone for people to contact each other, details of which will follow at a later time. Any other thoughts and suggestions are welcome, and a rough idea of who will be attending is always helpful too.

I'll be there, so long as there are people in the pub about 5pm, which there were last year.

I'm unlikely to be able to make the main meet, but will hopefully be joining you in the pub afterwards. I can't guarantee it though.

Why? We've had members attend from the USA before, and almost one from Australia ;D . Almost? Did he get as far as Hong Kong and then get a better offer?? As for me I would love to attend but, as much as I try to make out I am the Law, I think that on this occasion Mrs Ohms will put up some resistance.

I will book a ticket but I cannot promise being there this year due to personal stuff. I'll be there in spirit (hic!) regardless.

Pun... overload.... *explodes* I really need to book one of these Saturdays off so I can actually attend a forum meet, instead of forgetting and having work or this time booking the time off but to travel half the length of the UK and back again!

I love it; the Southerner is in Yorkshire and the Yorkshire-man is in The Capital! I'll still bring the custard though...

I'll still bring the custard though... The forum needs a "like" button for comments like that!

Well the box I was planning on bringing is pre-mixed Ambrosia, first purchased for my pre-Christmas mini-meet with Gantshill. Looking at it just now I discover that despite being a liquid it is sold by mass not volume, and is, in fact, a whole kilogram of custard.

It's been a few years since my rheology lectures, I think custard was the example of a dilatant fluid and Calpol the pseudoplastic thixotropic fluid.

Not been to the depot weekend for a few years, can you still get tickets from the window or do you have to book in advance? Might go on Sunday if I can get in.
