In multicultural Britain it would probably be accused of showing undue favouritism to Christians.
So we would probably have to run the following trains as well 1 - a similar lit train for the Hindus at Diwali (festival of light) 2 - a Ramadan train where eating is banned from dawn to dusk 3 - a similar fasting train for the Jewish Yom Kippur but in addition the PA system has LU asking passengers for forgiveness for the sins of signal failures and changing of the Met line timetable while drivers ask for forgiveness for actual and treats of strikes. Passengers in return must ask for forgiveness for abusing LU staff, leaning on doors, putting feet on seats etc. in order to be allowed on board.
only kidding :-)

They also have a vinyled decorated HK train running on line U1 (Warschauer Straße - Uhlandstraße) in Berlin, which was 'launched' on 24 November 2011. If they can do it, why not LU Where there's a will, there's a way

Oh wow, they played Wham - Last Christmas over the Tannoy, wish they would do stuff like that today but no. Health & Safety, multi-culturism and other things. Wait a minute...multi-culturism, that's why TFL is closed on Christmas Day. More Christmas songs please.

or a Blackpool tram on the Underground? Yeah, what about three Twin Cars coupled together, repainted into a pink and yellow version of the Metro Coastlines livery for the H&C / Circle? Or were you thinking of a Bombardier Flexity 2...?

I thought those kinds of things were required in the US to not get sued? xD Replying late and to someone who may or may not be around to see it, but... The general policy most people seem to take is that if it isn't explicitly religious, then it isn't state endorsement of religion. In other words, using lights or the word "holiday" with Santa and snowflakes is fine, but mention Christmas or show a manger or a cross and only then does it become something that requires accommodations to people of other religions (which are usually pretty minimal--AFAIK it's usually up to whoever wants to put it there to pay for and maintain the alternative display.)
