I personally believe you can't get no worst lit station on the Network than Euston Square... It's dark, dingy, cold, boring, I could go on!

Try going there when it's open They did once have some better lighting there, but not sure where it went. Maybe they've forgotten where the switch is. As for boring, how would you like us to beef it up? We already supply 2 different types of rolling stock there. The C-stocks are always unpredictable - will they stop on the 6 or 8 car marks! How much more interesting can we make it ;D

No matter how hard they try I always think the Stepney Green and Bow Road were two bloody dingy and miserable places to wait for a train. There is something ominous about them. I don't know what it is but I never felt comfortable there. "Creepy" is the word I'm looking for.

I quite agree about Stepney Green, especially when the old ceiling lamps were still there (they were replaced years ago with florescent strips).. I can remember stopping there on a CO/CP stock unit, which were dark enough themselves with their small filament bulbs.... When I say remember... I was only 9 years old when the CO/CP's were withdrawn...

Bending the topic slightly, does anyone know why the sign outside Uxbridge Station (the side entrance to the bus station) is never lit? Because it's behind a glass screen, it's invisible unlit even in daylight, and I often get asked by strangers where the underground station is, when within sight of it. It was lit up when first installed about 12-15 years ago, but was soon 'abandoned'. Perhaps there was an argument between the bus and underground managements as to who pays for the power?!

Worst lit station before refurbishment was with no doubt Botanic Garden on the Franklin Shuttle. Usually, there would be one single lightbulb for a six car platform, and that sometimes was out too. To give you an example, click on the link to see a pic: www.nycsubway.org/perl/show?28516The only entrance/exit was four car lengths into the tunnel. Considering that this station is located in one of the worst neighborhoods of New York City, one could understand why this station was only used by the brave and the foolish. By the way, our trains no longer look like that.
