Does anyone now what happened to the rig TP set up using this as when I went to the new LT museum it wasn't there anymore and if it is still in existance I wonder if there is any chance of getting it working at Acton Depot Museum for the open days. Darren.

Darren. If I remember, I will ask them when I visit Acton next week.

Just for a laugh, I'll add that as Railway Instructor at the RTC I was taught to teach "rapid" but then I moved over to Rolling Stock Instructor (and met Tubeprune) and was taught "rotary". I think the engineers should have this one - so rotary it is.
"Blow-out" coil? You didn't teach me that Tubeprune!

It's just dawned on me!
I should have remembered the golden rule - always take what's said at the RTC (currently Ashfield House) with a large dose of salt......you'll find out whats what when you get out on the railway proper..... ;D ;D ;D
So those of us that say rotary are definitely right then! ;D ;D ;D

Somewhere in my garage I have the instruction manual for the 38 tube stock, not the LT one, the PROPER one! I can't remember who it's by, but a Waterloo driver lent it to me many years ago.

Nice one David. I've managed to get my 1938 Stock RPA uploaded. Taken from the floor of the 1938 preserved stock on an outing. If someone recognises the sounds could you tell me at what time in the video transistion takes place from series to parallel (my guess is about 3.17). Also I ripped a lot of the sounds off this video for our Rail Simulator projects. Have a listen to the file labelled 1938Sounds and you should recognise some of them. vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=51409001
