What on earth was going on yesterday - heading for Tottenham Hale for a connection to Stratford via the Lea Bridge line (which has only one train/hour), my train (an 09) stopped twice between H&I and Finsbury park, and again before 7 Sisisters. The platform indicators said it was going to Walthamstow, but the gtrain itself said 7sisters, much to the confusion of many of the passengers - not helped by the PA sounding like the driver was down a 50 foot well ( I tried two cars - 13007 and 14008). I noticed that behind the train I got from 7S to TH (a 67) there was a 13 minute gap in the service, and the third train was 29 minutes away!
These gaps were still there on the live departure boards when I got back to my desk. This was, according to the TfL website, a "Good" service!

It was another door sensitive edge problem with a new stock train at Finsbury Park SB. The train "hiccuped" again at Oxford Circus and Pimlico.
And why am I not surprised it was "good service". "Carpet" and "sweeping dust under" comes to mind - yet again.

The live departure boards aren't always that accurate! Yesterday's problems were due to a combination of faulty trains and signalling problems.

Had a nightmare journey in this morning. Stopped at every station for ten minutes, I was only going between Vauxhall and Green Park, had to get off at Victoria and bus it in.
First it was person taken ill, then it was signal failures (which apparently still haven't been cleared so far, according to my colleague across the desk). What's going on with the Victoria Line?

'McGuinness There are two signalling systems currently overlaid which enable the two different tyoes of stock to operate. I imagine this, along with some of the issues with the new 2009 stock, has caused reliability to decrease. Not sure if the 67 stovk reliability is also decreasing, as I'm sure maintenance on it will be an a minimum prior to scrapping. Come next summer, the old stock will be gone, as will the old signalling track circuits. Things will hopefully be much better then.

Wicked, cheers buddy. I'll let the guys know at work so they will be able to start some underground banter when they're backed up along the line!

I don't think the "sensitive edges" are going to last much longer and will be looped out soon.

What goes around comes around. The 1920 Cammell Laird Tube Stock had "sensitive edges" and that didn't last beyond the first train and not long on that either.

I'm sure a software update would fix most of the sensitive edge issues, by making them easier to reset.
Surely they can't be THAT much of a problem - every 09 I've been on, has been really smooth a journey.

From my experience, when idiots run at the doors trying to get on before they close and prevent full closure, the system re-opens the doot slightly, then the doot just remains half open for a while. This is an ood site, because it never happens on air operated doors! Then, the driver does some form of reset. This can take up to a minute and although that doesn't sound like much, it can cause delays by blocking back the trains behind.

That would explain a lot. I've never seen the doors get stuck, although I have seen a re-open and after about 15 seconds see the doors close again. Not sure if that was anything to do with it...

All of this has been exaccerbated by at least three passenger alarms between 8:40-8:55 in the mornings, and not great for those of us stuck in the booking hall area at Vauxhall. tinyurl.com/383b7l6I really should have just kept going to Waterloo and got on the Jubilee line! 'McGuinness
