This evening, I noticed onboard an S stock train that the original Phil Sayer "please mind the gap between the train and the platform" message seemed to be playing rather than the newer one - odd, as I thought all of these had been phased out!
Another anomaly I've come to notice on the Class 378 LO trains has been the "This is car number 1 of 5" messages are voiced by Julie Berry, even though I know that Elinor Hamilton has recorded such messages - which begs the question, why go for Julie Berry?
Progress on the Northern line CIS update has been slow to say the least. I've so far only travelled on two trains with the upgraded announcements... I wonder why it's taking so long to roll out?
I notice that the CIS upgrade on the Northern line has been incredibly slow to roll out. Does anyone know whether they've temporarily paused it? I use the Northern line regularly, yet I have only travelled on a total of three trains that have been upgraded.

Hopefully they'll scrap the upgrade cuz it is in many ways a disaster. The new announcements are read at a slower pace than the originals, and the widespread splicing and dicing of old and new makes it sound like a botched job!
The other day I heard the following while on the Northern line, "The next station is Old Street, change here for Moorfields Eye Hospital and National Rail services", the latest addition to TfL's rail network...?
I've recently started hearing some Jubilee Line announcements that state the side the doors will open on, same wording as the Victoria Line. "Doors will open on the right-hand side". I've never heard this before, and it sounds like the lines were recorded at a different time to the rest of the announcements. Is this being rolled out or is this at the driver's discretion? I first heard it last week and again this morning, but not on every service I've been on.
Does anyone know when the DVA on the Piccadilly Line will be updated to reflect the closure of Heathrow Terminal 1?
This happened a year ago but the announcements still refer to "terminating at Heathrow Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5".
It seems the DVA on the 73 stock hasnt been updated for years, as it still mentions "Earls Court Exhibition Centre" at Earls Court, and makes no mention of the Circle Line at Hammersmith, so at least since 2009.
One would expect that it hasn't been updated since the opening of Terminal 5 in 2008. There's a few other anachronisms in the system, too.
I would expect that the DVA will, in all honesty, remain as it is until the replacement of the 73TS. Beyond Tube maps the change from T1,2,3 to T2,3 is non-existent, with platform indicators, line diagrams and the station itself all still bearing the original legend. Seems TfL aren't in a rush to change it, although it will be changing at some point.
There are some Northern line staff here who knows something about #51619 announcements? The unit still has the old version, but at Camden Town it is refreshed with the latest version. I took it few weeks ago SB to KEN and it was announcing even the next station and I thought it is because of system but today again NB to Edgware I heard same thing. Why it wasn't full refreshed?
