Ladies/Gents Members have been discussing access and engineering works that might affect the Open Day at the LT Museum's Acton Depot on the weekend of Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 March: districtdave.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=History&action=display&thread=10042&page=1The theme is London Transport in Miniature so expect loads of models and displays adjacent to the shop and historic trains & buses at the Acton depot: www.ltmuseum.co.uk/86.aspxThere's nothing to stop members meeting on either or even both days - as MRFS has mentioned on the other thread, The Red Lion and Pineapple (Wetherspoons pub) has been a regular haunt after visiting the depot in the past. www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/20/2092/Red_Lion_and_Pineapple/ActonThe depot address is: London Transport Museum Depot 2 Museum Way 118-120 Gunnersbury Lane London W3 9BQ The Admins are happy for members to make arrangements to meet at any time (doesn't have to be an LU/LT Museum event) and meets don't have to be Admin or Moderator lead BTW Feel free to discuss who can make it and on what day here

I'll be there on the Saturday. Just look for the person losing the shirt off of his back in order to pay for just one more item from the Radley models stand.......

No go here, I'm afraid. I am far too drunk (and broke!) to make it, I'm afraid. But I will endeavor to make the next Met Bar meet instead!

Well another successful day out at the musuem and it seems once again the crowds poured in tho I have to admit they were very rude. Pushing past people queeing is not on tut tut. Ive managed to get ahold of something MRFS42 might collection doesn't have ;D:-) Tho as he is the ever kind information provider on here, he's borrowing it! Also to be of mention is another forum first, members (innocently walking down the street I may add), being stopped and questioned by the police! The reason for this? A.I. had a rather nice Kentish Town freeze from the said day but the boys in blue decided that we may have nicked it and decided to question us on the side of the street! A good time and many memories that we will not forget. Bring on the summer meet. Oh and I may have to pop up to Chesham to 'remind' myself of that lovely pubs name....... and of course check out the refreshment list for our delightful members ;D

Also to be of mention is another forum first, members (innocently walking down the street I may add), being stopped and questioned by the police! And a first for me, too - never even been pulled over in a motor before - obv had the odd 'stiff chat' when I was a drunken yoof but never been pulled over while out walking down the road! I blame the lads - they were the ones that insisted I turn the sign round so everyone can see it says Kentish Town ;D What amused us the most was when the Pleece car went past then actually reversed down the (busy) street to draw level with us! Oh yes and the spotlight <giggle> I'm well chuffed with my sign and I managed to get it back to this Kentish town (canterbury) without further mishap, and will be cleaning it up later prior to installing it on the balcony of my flat!! Blimmin' ACE to see everyone, I had a really great time - thanks folks! Bring on the summer meet. Oh and I may have to pop up to Chesham to 'remind' myself of that lovely pubs name....... and of course check out the refreshment list for our delightful members ;D But of course. Mandatory, no? We discussed yesterday the idea that the summer meet should take in the furthest extents of the Met, starting at Aldgate and heading west. Keep your eyes peeled and watch out for further announcements/discussions re: a date! Thanks once again guys for a wicked night! xxAI

T'was a good day. So good to see you all. Of couse, walking down the road with a 'Kentish Town' sign isn't suspicious behavior at all! I blame the guy with the eyebrows......

I blame the guy with the eyebrows...... <innocent look> I don't know what you are talking about!! </il> Anyway, a great day was had by all, and a pleasant gathering in the 'pub afterwards. We think the forum record for travelling to a meet has been set by Cyberman who travelled over from Boston in the USofA. The Depot was ***incredibly*** busy with huge queues for most of the day. Many thanks to mackenzieblu for lending me the yellow peril that I missed and hadn't got; the highlight for me was finding a TTN that matches up with one of my programme machine rolls - I can forsee a rainy day looking through the roll and checking against the timetable. ;D ;D ;D

All concerned knew about the length of the queues - simply because of the number of visitors, I think. Some issues were hit today with regards to the weather - we had ingress of water near power sockets, and the entrance from outside was like a swimming pool, despite the best efforts of Mrs Mop.

Great to meet you all at the RLAP and wish I could have stayed longer. Quite entertaining to hear about the "Kentish Town" sign incident...could be a lethal weapon you know. I understand that a "Way Out" sign could be lethal in the hands of someone cunning and skilled with the handling of such an implement. I'm now back at my office in the States, having returned last night from the home turf. Ah how sweet it was.
